Topic of Survey (Sub-topic of Youth Forum for the Future)

The participants from China and Japan conducted a survey in their own country prior to the event.
The survey team of the youth from the three countries conducted a research to the Korean youth during the Friendship Meeting. based on the results, they had a group discussion and eventually adopted the Youth Seoul Declaration.

• Street Festival of Trilateral Youth Friendship
- Date: July 28, 2012
- Venue: Hongdae Street, Seoul, ROK
- Performance: performance on stage (two teams in total: one band and one traditional/ modern performance team)
- Booths were set up for promoting traditional/ modern culture of the three countries

• Korean Social and Cultural Experience
- Korean cultural experience (K-pop, food, Korean traditional culture, etc)
- Social and cultural tour in Seoul (voluntary visit/ field-trip)

• 300 participants from the three countries were divided into three groups under the topic of “Disaster Prevention”; “Energy Efficiency”; and “Renewable Energy”.
Each group had a discussion and study visit and a final report was composed under the topics.

• 300 participants were divided into 7 different groups under sub-themes. Each group had a study visit and made a final report by using flash video, animation, etc. In the Meeting, the participants visited a world cultural heritage in Shandong. • • Also, the Japanese and Korean delegations introduced their own culture with exhibition. Further, the T-Shirt Design
Contest with a logo, mascot and slogan was conducted under the theme of “Trilateral Youth Friendship Meeting”.
3rd Trilateral Youth Friendship Meeting

• Trilateral Cooperation Project Development Contest;
• Questionnaire Survey among the Youth for Trilateral Cooperation; and
• Trilateral Youngster Friendship Street Festival

■ Outcome
• 300 participants from the three countries were divided into three groups according to the topic: “Social Participation of Three Nations’ Young People”, “Cultural Exchange” and “CyberCulture”. Each group exchanged their views and opinions under the sub-themes. As a result of the comprehensive discussions, a joint declaration was adopted.
• During the Meeting, the participants also visited the Dori-Mountains Unification Lookout, a historical site for the division of Korea and subsequently participated in the Trilateral Youngster Friendship Street Festival on July 24.

• Theme: The Roles of Youth for Stability and Prosperity of East Asia
• Group discussion and proposal on environment, higher edcuation, and cultural exchange

■ Outcome
• 300 participants from the three countries were divided into three groups according to the topic: “Environment”; “Higher Education”; and “Cultural Exchange”. Each group had a discussion, conducted a study visit and summarized the result as the Proposal of ENVIRONMENT; Proposal of HIGHER EDUCATION; and Proposal of CULTURAL EXCHANGE. Also, as part of the programme, Chinese and Korean participants had an one-night homestay with a Japanese family in Yamanashi, Shiga, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Nara, Wakayama and Kumamoto Prefecture from September 20 to 21.
• Based on the comprehensive discussions among the participants, the Proposal of ENVIRONMENT, Proposal of HIGHER EDUCATION and Proposal of CULTURAL EXCHANGE were submitted to the leaders of the three countries on the occasion of the First Trilateral Summit Meeting held in Fukuoka on December 13, 2008.
