TC ActivitiesTrilateral Cooperation Secretariat Launches China-Japan-ROK Short Video Contest 2025The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) announces the launch of the China-Japan-ROK Short Video Contest 2025. This contest commemorates the "2025-2026 Year of Cultural Exchange" and aims to promote mutual understanding among China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea. Participants are invited to explore themes related to the cultures of the three nations and the CJK Word of the Year 2025 "Future (未来/미래)", which symbolizes the spirit of trilateral cooperation. The submission period will run for 4 weeks from Monday, February 17, to Sunday, March 23, 2025. Citizens of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea can participate individually or in teams from Monday, February 17, to Sunday, March 23, 2025. Seven exceptional entries will be selected through TCS's review process. Winners will be announced on April 11, 2025, via the TCS website, with direct notifications to the winners. The winning videos will be showcased at the "2025-2026 Year of Cultural Exchange" opening ceremony in Tokyo, Japan on April 14, 2025. Entries should be submitted through the official contest website at https://tyen.tcs-asia.org/home. Submissions can be made individually or as a team, with each participant or team eligible to win for only one entry. TCS welcomes citizens from the three countries to actively participate and views this contest as a meaningful opportunity to foster connections and deepen mutual understanding among the people of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.2025-02-17

OthersSecretary-General LEE Hee-sup Met with DMUCH Director-General YOSHITOMI ShintaOn February 16, 2025, TCS Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup visited Institute of Disaster Mitigation for Urban Cultural Heritage (R-DMUCH*) and met with Director-General YOSHITOMI Shinta to discuss ways to explore cooperation. They discussed their major collaboration plan on Symposium on Disaster Mitigation for Cultural Heritage and Historical Cities and agreed to explore the ways to facilitate discussion on a variety of aspects in this subject, in collaboration of international society. *R-DMUCH, since its' establishment in March 2006 on land adjacent to the Kinugasa Campus of Ritsumeikan University in Japan, Kyoto, conducts research that integrates the humanities and sciences to protect historical cities and cultural heritage from disasters.▲TCS SG LEE Hee-sup and DMUCH DG YOSHITOMI Shinta2025-02-16

MechanismsTCS Secretary-General LEE Hee-Sup Attends Farewell Reception of the 1st Korea-China-Japan Youth Winter Sports ExchangeThe 1st Korea-China-Japan Youth Winter Sports Exchange successfully concluded on January 24 after six days of activities across Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon Province. Hosted by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and financially supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, the event aimed to promote sportsmanship, friendship, and cultural understanding among the three countries.This inaugural exchange brought together 431 young athletes, including 148 from Korea, 150 from China, and 133 from Japan, who competed and trained in skiing, ice skating, ice hockey, and curling. Participants honed their skills through joint training sessions, practice matches, and official competitions.Beyond sports, the exchange featured a variety of cultural activities, such as visits to SK Telecom’s T.um Future Technology Center, SOMA Museum of Art, Lotte World Seoul Sky, and a farewell reception on January 23.TCS Secretary-General Lee Hee-sup attended the VIP meeting and farewell reception on 23rd, congratulating participants and organizers on the program's successful conclusion. He emphasized the significance of fostering youth and sports exchange and cooperation among the three countries.
