Mechanisms TCS Participated in Pre-TEMM25 Working Level Meeting

On June 14, 2024, the Pre-TEMM25 working-level meeting was held in the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) Conference Hall.
Director-level officials from the Ministry of Environment of the ROK, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, and the TCS attended the meeting. The meeting was held to review the Joint Communique and prepare logistical arrangements for the upcoming 25th Tripartite Environment Ministers’ Meeting (TEMM25), which will be held in September 2024.
KIM Hyoseon, Director of Department of Economic Affairs of TCS delivered opening and closing remarks. In her remarks, she expressed her appreciation to all three ministries for their great support of TCS initiatives. In particular, she mentioned the 2024 Carbon Neutrality Forum, which invited high-level officials from the environment ministries of the three countries. She also shared the upcoming plans for the Trilateral Environmental Teachers Exchange Program (TTEP) scheduled next year.
Officials from the three countries appreciated TCS for the support on environmental tripartite cooperation and expressed interest in exploring more projects in the future.
The three ministries’ officials discussed the contents of the Joint Communique and the progress of the Joint Action Plan on Environmental Cooperation 2021-2025 and the Priority Areas of New Tripartite Joint Action Plan 2026-2030.
As a follow-up, the TEMM24 Director-General Meeting will be held in August 2024 in Jeju.
