TCS

On 31 October 2022, the TCS delegation headed by Deputy Secretary-General SAKATA Natsuko, participated in the TEMM23 (The 23rd Tripartite Environment Ministers’ Meeting) Director-General Meeting held online. The Director-Generals from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China (the host country), the Ministry of Environment of Japan, and the Ministry of Environment of the ROK attended the meeting for the preparation for the TEMM23 as it is approaching. 

In the opening remark, Deputy Secretary-General SAKATA Natsuko appreciated the host country for their efforts to prepare for the successful TEMM23. DSG SAKATA also highlighted the importance of environmental issues such as climate change as it is crucial for the co-existence of nature and human beings. She introduced TCS activities including online Trilateral Symposium on Environmental Education and Public awareness in August along with TCS role. She also emphasized that TCS is fully ready to support and make substantial efforts in facilitating trilateral environmental cooperation. 

Prior to the Director-General meeting, on 27 October, Director KIM Jieun gave an opening remark at the working level meeting held online. Meeting participants were engaged in a fruitful discussion on TEMM23 preparation and reaffirmed their commitments for close collaboration in this regard.
