[Biography of H.E. HU Zhengyue]
H.E. HU Zhengyue served as a staff member at the Department of Asian Affairs under Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1976-1978). While serving in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, he worked as attaché (1978-1982) and First Secretary of Chinese Embassy (1991-1993). He also worked as attaché, Third Secretary, Deputy Director General, and First Secretary at the Department of Asian Affairs under Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1982-1991). He then served at Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Singapore as First Secretary (1993-1995) and Minister Counselor (1995-1997). After serving in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Singapore, he worked as Deputy Director General at the Department of Asian Affairs under Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997-2000). After a year engaging in Advanced Studies in Georgetown University in the United States (2000- 2001), Hu served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Malaysia (2001- 2003). He continued serving at Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he worked as Director General at the Department for Diplomatic Missions Abroad (2003-2004), Executive Deputy Secretary at the Department for Party-related Affairs (2004-2006), Director General at the Department of Asian Affairs (2006-2008), Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs (2008-2011), and Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner in Macao Special Administrative Region (2011-2015). He is currently Vice President of China Public Diplomacy Association (2015- ).
