The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) will host the 3rd CJK FTA Seminar in the morning of November 26, 2014, in Tokyo, Japan, in collaboration with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan; Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan; Ministry of Commerce of China; and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea (ROK).
The Seminar aims to promote public understanding of CJK FTA and provide support to the on-going negotiations launched in March 2013. This year’s Seminar will address detailed agenda of CJK FTA, i.e., 1) development of trilateral investment framework, 2) enhancement of industrial cooperation and 3) optimal sets of rules of origin, bringing together government officials, business professionals and scholars of the three countries, to explore CJK FTA’s implications on trilateral economic cooperation as well as regional economic integration in East Asia.
The Seminar is an open event, and we welcome all who are interested. For detailed schedule, please refer to the attached Tentative Program below.
Outline of the 3rd CJK FTA Seminar:
1. Time and Date: 09:00-12:30, November 26 (Wed), 2014
(Registration will start at 8:40)
2. Venue: Bosei Hall, the Tokai University Club, Tokyo, Japan
3. Host: TCS
4. Language: English and Japanese. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
5. Sessions :
1) CJK FTA’s Role in Developing Investment framework in and beyond the Three Countries
2) Toward Enhancement of Trilateral Industrial Cooperation
3) Rules of Origin and its Implication for East Asian Integration
6. Lunch Reception: Immediately after the Seminar, the TCS will host lunch reception to promote information-sharing among participants. Your participation will be much appreciated.
