EVENT TCS holds 2014 International Forum for the Trilateral Cooperation (IFTC) - 2014.04.15

The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) will host the International Forum for the Trilateral Cooperation (IFTC) 2014, titled “The Unity in Diversity – Fostering East Asian Identity & Spirit of Community” on April 15th in Seoul. Under the current bilateral difficulty in the region, the TCS expects the IFTC could release the voice of cooperation in Northeast Asia, and gather insightful and constructive proposals of the trilateral cooperation.
The Forum will be composed by 4 sessions: 1) keynote session, 2) “In Face of Uncertainty and Calling for New Thinking”, 3) “Wisdom of Integration – When Northeast Asia Encounters the West”, 4) “Towards the Perception of East Asian Citizen – Ways of Public Diplomacy”. The Forum examines a variety of current affairs including political climate in Northeast Asia, models of regional cooperation, trilateral FTA, public diplomacy, people to people exchange, and etc. Dignitaries from the three countries will deliver keynote speeches and express their expectation for the trilateral cooperation.
Attendance in IFTC is on an invitation basis. However, the TCS will allocate some seats for who are highly interested in participating. Please refer to the TCS website for online registration.
The IFTC is one of the annual brand projects of the TCS with an aim to sharing vision of peace and common prosperity in Northeast Asia. Past distinguished guests include former Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Hatoyama Yukio, former Korean Foreign Minister Mr. Kim Sung-hwan, former China’s State Councilor Mr. Tang Jiaxuan, and etc. The last IFTC, titled Year of Transition and the Trilateral Cooperation was held in October 2012, and was honored to have Presidential candidate (current ROK President) Park Geun-hye’s noble attendance to share her vision for the Northeast Asia regional cooperation.
