On January 16, 2025, Deputy Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) YAN Liang met with Global Times Editor-in-Chief FAN Zhengwei at the newspaper’s office in Beijing, China. During the meeting, they exchanged views on trilateral cooperation and explored new collaborative opportunities.
DSG Yan provided comprehensive updates on recent developments in trilateral cooperation and highlighted key TCS’ projects, including CJK Word of the Year and Trilateral Journalist Exchange Program. He expressed gratitude to the Global Times for their support in publishing an editorial on the selected word of the CJK Word of the Year, and emphasized the importance of enhancing the partnership between the TCS and the Global Times.
Editor-in-Chief FAN reaffirmed that trilateral cooperation remains a priority focus area for the Global Times. He acknowledged TCS’ significant contribution in advancing trilateral cooperation and expressed interest in further cooperation.
Vice Editor-in-Chief MENG Yuhong, who also attended the meeting, highlighted the newspaper’s extensive coverage of trilateral cooperation and proposed new cooperative initiatives for media cooperation, including the possibility of conducting a joint survey on mutual perceptions among the three countries.
