Others 57th Tamna Cultural Festival, Jeju, ROK

The 57th Tamna Cultural Festival was held from October 10 to 14 at the Tamna Culture Square in Jeju City. Nine former East Asian Culture Cities (EACC) and sister cities from the three countries performed during the festival as a follow up of the Trilateral Culture Ministers’ Meeting. The TCS delegation participated the festival for the first time.
During the festival, PS NAGAFUCHI met with Mr.KIM Nam-jin, Section Chief Cultural Policy of Jeju’s Cultural Policy Division and discussed TCS’ possible cooperation with the Jeju in the field of culture and people-to-people exchange. In addition, PS NAGAFUCHI also met Mr. KANG Ji-seok, international exchange expert committeeman of Gwangju city’s Hub City of Asian Culture Forum, and discussed the facilitation of EACC networks and future cooperation among EACC cities.
As one of the festival’s side events, folk arts performance groups from China and Japan showcased their cultural heritage and the charm of their regional characteristics to elementary students in Jeju.
