Seminar & Forum 2024 Trilateral Young Scholars Forum Held in Seoul, Korea 2024.08.06 ~ 2024.08.07

On August 6, the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) hosted the Trilateral Young Scholars Forum (YSF) in Seoul, Korea, co-hosted by Sungkyunkwan University, with the support from Shandong University. Under the theme of “25 years of Trilateral Cooperation: Institutionalization, Revitalization, and Trilateral + X”, the YSF brought together 12 young scholars from the three countries to make presentation and engage in the discussion on potential cooperative areas for China, Japan and the ROK. 

DSG YAN delivered the opening remarks, acknowledging the vital role of intellectual exchanges among the younger generation in strengthening cooperation between the three countries. He encouraged participants to contribute their insights to further deepen cooperation and enhance regional stability and prosperity. 

The following three sessions centered on the three topics “Institutionalizing Trilateral Cooperation”, “New Horizons: Revitalizing CJK Partnership”, “Trilateral + X: Cooperation Beyond”. The presentations were informative, and the discussions were engaging with participants sharing constructive feedback on how to enhance cooperation among the three countries in various fields. 

On August 7, joint session of the YSF and the Trilateral Youth Summit (TYS) was held. 6 scholars of the YSF gave presentations to the students on the topics “People-to-people exchange”, “Digital Transformation and Public Health”, “Economic and Trade cooperation”, and “Sustainable Development and Disaster Relief”, followed by an active discussion session.
