On December 5, 2023, the TCS delegation participated in the 2nd ASEAN+3 Economic Cooperation and Financial Stability Forum (AMRO Forum) held in Kanazawa, Japan. This annual flagship event, inaugurated in December 2022, serves as a collaborative platform organized by the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) in conjunction with ASEAN+3 member authorities and other partner institutions. The forum facilitates the exchange of perspectives on global and regional economic and financial developments and addresses emerging challenges.

Themed "Safeguarding Growth and Stability in a Complex World: Challenges and Solutions," this year's forum was its 2nd hosting, co-hosted with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). Policymakers, experts, and academic convened to discuss in two comprehensive sessions, "Macroeconomic Situation and Prospects: Turbulence and Stabilizers" and "Soaring Debt and Financial Stress: Implications for ASEAN+3's Financial Stability," featuring keynote speeches and panel discussions that delved into the key challenges facing East Asian economic growth and macro-financial stability. Participants further discussed the solutions and initiatives in fostering new areas of growth. Additionally, the forum served as the platform for the launch of the ASEAN+3 Financial Stability Report (AFSR).

AMRO, established by the ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers, plays a vital role in contributing to the macroeconomic and financial resilience and stability of the ASEAN+3 region. TCS has fostered a close partnership with AMRO since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in April 2019, with an extension in April 2022. This enduring collaboration underscores TCS's commitment to continue working with AMRO to strengthen “Trilateral+X” finance cooperation, ensuring sustained progress and stability in the region.
