Others TCS Board Paid a Courtesy Call on Former UN Secretary-General BAN Ki-moon 2023.11.09

On November 9, 2023, Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup, Deputy Secretaries-General ZUSHI Shuji and YAN Liang (collectively known as the "7th Consultative Board") of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) paid a visit to Former UN Secretary-General BAN Ki-moon, who is currently the chairman of the Ban Ki-moon Foundation For a Better Future. They engaged in a meaningful exchange of ideas and perspectives, strengthening the bonds of cooperation. 

Chairman BAN warmly welcomed the TCS delegation and congratulated the 7th Board of TCS on their assumption of office. He emphasized the important role that TCS plays in advancing and promoting trilateral relations. He expressed his strong support for TCS activities and encouraged the TCS to play a more influential role in the regional society by strengthening ties with the three governments. 

Secretary-General LEE expressed his gratitude for Chairman BAN's support and shared his visions. He said that Trilateral Cooperation has been regaining its momentum since the countries have recovered from the pandemic. He highlighted that the TCS has been actively participating in significant events such as the Annual Conference of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), and his attendance at the 2nd Global Economic Development and Security (GEDS) Forum in Changsha, China, last month. SG LEE reiterated TCS‘s commitment to regional development through closer partnership and enhanced cooperation with BFA. 

DSG ZUSHI and DSG Yan, as well as Ambassador KIM Sook, also shared their valuable insights during the meeting, contributing to the constructive dialogue on Trilateral Cooperation and regional development.
