From October 29 to 31, 2023, TCS Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup attended the 2nd Conference of Global Economic Development and Security Forum of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) and delivered remarks at the opening ceremony on October 30.
The forum themed "Global Development, Shared Security" was held Changsha, the capital city of central China's Hunan Province, and co-hosted by the BFA and the Hunan provincial people's government. About 2,500 Government officials, heads of international organizations, business representatives and scholars attended the forum and shared their opinion on issues in global development and security.
In his remarks, SG Lee emphasized the consistent growth of trilateral cooperation, especially in the face of the world's ongoing "global polycrisis." He called for even closer collaboration among the three countries, recognizing the need for turning challenges into opportunities.
He also underlined the common aspirations of TCS and BFA in strengthening the resilience and unity of the Asian community. He pledged TCS's commitment to working alongside BFA to jointly promote cooperation, solidarity, stability, and regional development.
Furthermore, SG Lee attended the Welcome Dinner hosted by ZHOU Haibing, Vice Governor of Hunan and Mayor of Changsha and VIP luncheon hosted by SHEN Xiaoming, Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee. He engaged with a diverse array of participants, further fostering trilateral cooperation and mutual understanding.
