TC Activities 17th Yellow Sea Rim Economic and Technological Conference in Gunsan, ROK 2018.11.19 ~ 2018.11.21

TCS delegation headed by Deputy Secretary-General HAN Mei attended the 17th Yellow Sea Rim Economic and Technological Conference (hereafter as “the Conference”) held from 19 to 21 November 2018 in Gunsan, ROK. 

 

The Conference has brought together representatives from China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), ROK’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, as well as representatives from local level governments, business associations and companies in China, Japan and the ROK. 

 

Deputy Secretary-General HAN was invited to deliver a presentation on TCS’s project of the Joint Research of E-commerce in China, Japan and the ROK at the Plenary Meeting. In her presentation, Deputy Secretary-General HAN introduced the project’s mandate of creating a regional digital single market, the project’s implementation, progress and expected outcomes, and final reporting. 

 

Deputy Secretary-General HAN also shed light on the new development modality “CJK+X” as a strategic approach to avoid competition, utilize three countries’ complementarities and enhance regional connectivity with priority areas such as infrastructure, supply chain connectivity, environment protection, disaster reduction and aging society etc.

 

On the sidelines of the Conference, the TCS arranged a promotion booth to raise the general public’s awareness and improve their understanding of the TCS and the importance of Trilateral Cooperation. 

 

The Yellow Sea Rim Economic and Technological Conference was launched in 2001 and has been held annually to promoting trilateral cooperation in trade, investment, technology, industrial park and special zones and human resources. The next Conference will be held in Jining City, Shandong Province, China in 2019.
