Others ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) in Singapore 2018.11.14
The board of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) paid a visit to the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) in Singapore on November 14, 2018, and met with the Director, Ms. CHANG Junhong. 

Secretary-General LEE Jong-heon appreciated AMRO’s critical contribution in facilitating financial stability in East Asia as a surveillance organization. He mentioned that TCS was dedicated in promoting trilateral cooperation and regional stability and prosperity. He recognized that the two organizations shared many common visions and should explore more cooperative opportunities considering the similarities and complements. 

Director CHANG mentioned that AMRO was specialized in finance area and was deeply involved in ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors Meeting. She listened to and appreciated the mechanisms that TCS supported in a broad range of areas and believed that both organizations could benefit from each other’s functions and different groups of network. 

During the meeting, TCS and AMRO exchanged information on both organizations including history, structure, missions and functions. The two organizations had a fruitful discussion on collaborative areas and agreed to strengthen contact in the future. 

AMRO is a regional macroeconomic surveillance organization that aims to contribute to securing the macroeconomic and financial stability in the ASEAN+3 region. It was established in 2011 as a company limited and transformed to an international organization in 2016 with headquarter in Singapore.
