Others TCS organized Promotion Event for Trilateral Common Vocabulary Dictionary in China 2018.08.25
TCS co-organized Promotion Event for Trilateral Common Vocabulary Dictionary with The Japan Foundation China Center at Japan Foundation Beijing Office in China on August 25, 2018. The event brought together around 50 participants including representatives from governments, media organizations of the three countries, Japanese and Korean Embassies, National Museum of Chinese Writing, etc. Deputy Secretary-General HAN Mei from Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat, Ms. NOGUCHI Yuko, Deputy Director of The Japan Foundation China Center, Ms. JIANG Yujia, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs of Xinhua News Agency, Mr. LEE Young-sin, First Secretary of Korean Embassy to China and Ms. ONO Chikako, First Secretary of Japanese Embassy to China attended the Event. 

At the Event, TCS Deputy Secretary-General HAN Mei delivered Opening Remarks and introduced background of launching the compilation project of Trilateral Common Vocabulary Dictionary (TCVD) and its significance. She hopes that the TCVD will play as a useful tool to build a friendship and communication bridge that connects the three countries. Deputy Director NOGUCHI Yuko of The Japan Foundation China Center also delivered Congratulatory Remarks and mainly touched upon the significance of conversation by writing Chinese Characters throughout the long history which contributed to the friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and China. 

The Event also invited prominent cultural figure Mr. RONG Hongjun to give the lively interpretation on the similarities and differences of calligraphy and art work among the three countries. It was followed by Calligraphy Workshop which provides the participants of the event to experience the calligraphy work. 

As the side event, TCS co-organized “Trilateral Chinese Characters Cultural Exhibition” with National Museum of Chinese Writing. The exhibition includes TCVD Special Exhibition, Introduction of Chinese Characters History and woodblock printing where participants enjoyed variety of exciting and interesting experience. 

The TCVD drew a high attention and gained a lot of popularity among the participants who are interested in all three language versions of TCVD for their language study and understanding on the similarities and differences of this shared common culture among the three countries.
