Seminar & Forum The 8th UN Global Compact China-Japan-Korea Roundtable Conference and the 2016 SDGs China Summit in Beijing, China 2016.08.21 ~ 2016.08.22
On August 21 to 22, the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) participated in the 8th UN Global Compact China-Japan-Korea Roundtable Conference (hereinafter “the Conference”) and the 2016 SDGs China Summit in Beijing, China. It is the second time for TCS to attend the UN Global Compact China-Japan-Korea Roundtable Conference as an official sponsor.

During the Conference, Secretary-General YANG Houlan delivered opening remarks at the Youth and Researcher Forum on August 21 and the Business Roundtable Conference on August 22. In his remarks, SG YANG Houlan pointed out the importance of youth and business sector’s contribution to the implementation of the sustainable development in the three countries as well as the world.

In addition to SG’s speech, the TCS supported the Youth and Researcher Forum where the university students of the three countries presented their creative ideas for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the trilateral cooperation on the sustainable way of using water, electronic products and Olympic Games. The TCS provided substantial contribution by offering guide materials for discussion.

SG YANG Houlan also attended the CJK Local Networks Meeting with the TCS. Representatives from the three Local Networks introduced the future plan of CJK Roundtable Conference and discussed future cooperation with the TCS. 

Together with the Conference, the 2016 SDGs China Summit was held on August 22 morning. SG YANG Houlan delivered speech at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the significance of the trilateral cooperation on sustainable development.
