Mechanisms 21st ASEAN Plus Three Summit in Singapore 2018.11.15
The 21st ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Summit was held in Singapore on 15 November 2018. All Heads of State/Government of 10 ASEAN Member States, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea (ROK), and Japan attended the Summit. The TCS board members, headed by Secretary-General LEE Jong-heon, and were also in attendance as observer. 

The Leaders reviewed the progress of APT cooperation, including the implementation of the APT Cooperation Work Plan 2018-2022, and exchanged views on the future direction of APT cooperation. They reiterated that the APT plays a key role in regional community-building in East Asia with ASEAN as the driving force, and recognized that trilateral cooperation provides opportunities for a more robust APT cooperation process by enhancing mutual trust and boosting win-win functional cooperation in the region. With regard to regional and international issues, the Leaders welcomed the Inter-Korean Summit and the Singapore Summit between the U.S. and the DPRK, while also urging all concerned parties to continue the joint efforts toward the realization of lasting peace and stability on a denuclearized Korean Peninsula. 

The APT Leaders’ Statement on Cooperation against Antimicrobial Resistance was adopted at the APT Summit under the chairmanship of Singapore.
