The TCS Secretary-General Lee Jong-heon gave a special lecture at Korea University under the theme of "Future of China-Japan-ROK Trilateral Cooperation: Lessons from Europe" on November 6, 2018. The lecture was hosted by Korea University Nordic-Benelux Center, KU-KIEP-SBS-EU Centre, Jean Monnet Network NEAR Project, and Jean Monnet Chair Programme.
During the lecture, SG Lee explained the history of trilateral cooperation, functions of the TCS, significance of the role of "good diplomacy" in the promotion of positive factors of the trilateral cooperation, as well as the lessons learned from the EU model. The lecture was followed by a half an hour Q&A session, where students asked a variety of questions, including what conditions the trilateral cooperation would need to be able to develop into a regional community such as the EU, and how the TCS would expect the trilateral relations to look like in 10 years.
