On Sunday, May 26, 2019, The China-Japan-ROK Belt and Road Business Conference was held in Shaoxing, China. TCS delegation headed by Ms. HAN Mei, Deputy Secretary-General of TCS attended the Conference. DSG HAN Mei gave a keynote speech titled “New Start, New Vision- A Fresh Chapter for Trilateral Cooperation” to commemorate the 20th anniversary and look forward to the future of Trilateral Cooperation.
In her speech, DSG HAN Mei introduced the remarkable achievements that the three countries made in the past 20 years, including a more developed trilateral mechanism on multiple levels and in various areas such as economic and trade, environment, health, IPR, transport and logistics and so on. She also introduced TCS and the efforts and activities that TCS conducted to support the cooperation since establishment.
More importantly, DSG Han encouraged a tighter collaboration among China, Japan and ROK to benefit domestic and regional economy, and to contribute to regional peace and prosperity. She was delighted to see more space had been opened up for trilateral cooperation and believed win-win-win results would be achieved as long as the three countries kept cooperating in an open and inclusive manner.
DSG Han was interviewed by media such as Zhejiang Daily after the Conference where she re-emphasized her message to the audience and expressed confidence in Shaoxing’s future collaboration with Japanese and Korean counterparts.
Other distinguished guests including Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, Former Prime Minister of Japan attended the conference and delivered remark. All guests believed economic cooperation among the three countries would serve as a bridge to connect each other despite of the political turbulence. Therefore, Chinese, Japanese and Korean companies and business associations should play a more important role not only in developing economy but also in creating a more connected environment.
The Conference was organized and supported by Shaoxing Municipal Government, CCOIC, TCS, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, the Korea Chamber of Commerce in China, CCPIT Zhejiang. More than 200 audience from industry and commerce related fields participated in the Conference.
