Others TCS Board Members Paid a Courtesy Visit to Ministry of Culture of China

On November 26, 2015, TCS board members paid a courtesy call on H.E. DING Wei, Vice Minister of Culture of China, and exchanged the views on future promotion of trilateral cooperation on culture among China, Japan and the ROK.
Secretary-General YANG Houlan of the TCS acknowledged that the three parties has made constant efforts to develop the Trilateral Cultural Ministers’ Meeting since 2007 and implemented several follow-up projects. He added that the TCS can take more active role in engaging in “East Asian Cultural Cities” and resuming “Trilateral Culture Industry Forum”, which has been suspended since 2009.
H.E. DING highlighted the key role of cultural exchange in building the solid foundation between the people, and welcomed the TCS’ involvement in promoting cultural exchange among the three countries. In this regard, he offered several suggestions including 1) more active role of the TCS in engaging the “East Asian Cultural Cities”; 2) strengthening the mechanism of Trilateral Culture Ministers’ Meeting; 3) developing the “East Asian Festival”; 4) enhancing the cooperation on culture industry; 5) conducting relevant events on traditional festival such as new year festival, etc.
