Seminar & Forum TCS Participates in the 91st International Forum on China Reform 2025-11-01

On November 1, 2025, Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup attended the 91st International Forum on China Reform, held by the China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) in Haikou under the theme “China’s 15th Five-Year Plan: Comprehensively Deepening Reform and High-Quality Development.” Key domestic leaders included Mr. Liu Xiaoming, Governor of Hainan Province; Mr. Wu Hailong, President of the China Public Diplomacy Association; and Mr. Chi Fulin, President of CIRD. 

During Plenary Session II, SG LEE emphasized that openness and cooperation are essential for stability and growth in East Asia. He highlighted the roles of China, Japan, and Korea in supporting regional economic integration, maintaining stable supply chains, and advancing Free Trade Agreement negotiations under RCEP. He also noted that with Korea hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting this year and China set to host in 2026, the region has a valuable opportunity to reinforce openness and interconnectedness. 

SG LEE was also interviewed by Xinhua News Agency, Hainan TV, and Sansha Satellite TV, where he underscored the importance of trilateral cooperation in stabilizing supply chains, fostering economic connectivity, and promoting shared growth, contributing to a resilient Asia-Pacific community. 

This year’s Forum drew over 100 senior officials, diplomats, scholars, and business leaders from more than 20 countries and regions, including China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, the US, and Canada, providing a high-level platform for dialogue on reform, development, and regional economic cooperation.
