On 10 November, TCS Secretary-General OU Boqian delivered video remarks to the 10th Trilateral Dialogue on Population Policy. The Seminar was organized by China Population and Development Research Center (CPDRC), with the support of National Health Commission of China (NHC), Cabinet Office of Japan, and Ministry of Health and Welfare of the ROK. Attended the Seminar were population policy-related officials and experts from the three countries. 

In her remarks, SG OU pointed out that the pressing situations of fertility declining and population ageing have brought about significant challenges to the sustainable development of China, Japan and ROK. The three countries are in urgent demand of creative and innovative policy thinking and measures. She spoke highly of the concerted efforts made by the population authorities of the three countries and the conducive functions of the Trilateral Dialogue on Population Policy as a platform for exchanging views and good practices on addressing fertility declining and population ageing. She further introduced TCS’ contributions to the issues and called for all stakeholders to jointly cope with the population challenges, so to promote Lasting Peace, Common Prosperity, and Shared Culture in the region. 

The Trilateral Dialogue on Population Policy was launched in accordance with the decision made by the First Trilateral Summit held in Fukuoka, Japan in December 2008, and has witnessed 10 editions rotationally organized in the three countries until 2022.
