On April 21, 2022, TCS Secretary-General Amb. OU Boqian had a meeting with Ms. Loretta Hieber Girardet, Chief of the Risk Knowledge Branch, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and Mr. Sanjaya Bhatia, Head of the UNDRR Office for Northeast Asia (ONEA) and Global Education and Training Institute (GETI). Introducing the TCS’s wide range of activities and focuses, such as economic cooperation, aging societies, climate change, and people-to-people exchanges, SG OU emphasized the importance of collectively preparing for and addressing the threats to human security like increasing and intensifying natural disasters in the region and appreciated the role of the UNDRR in this regard. She expressed her happiness in participating in the upcoming Disaster Resilience Leaders Forum in September 2022 for delivering the opening remarks and shared a plan to visit the UNDRR office in Incheon around July.
