On August 8, 2017, Secretary-General YANG Houlan paid a farewell call on H.E. KONG Xuanyou, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
Secretary-General YANG introduced the progress and achievements of the trilateral cooperation in the past two years as well as TCS’ activities. He underlined that trilateral cooperation has made a lot of progress on a wide range of areas among the three countries, in particular people-to-people exchange and economic cooperation possesses huge opportunity and potential. He also stressed that in the time of political challenges and uncertainties faced by the three countries, the TCS will make its utmost efforts to follow up and implement the outcomes of the Trilateral Summit as the stabilizer and thruster to promote and facilitate the trilateral cooperation. Secretary-General YANG expressed sincere gratitude toward Assistant Foreign Minister KONG and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China for the strong support and guidance for the trilateral cooperation and TCS’ activities.
Assistant Foreign Minister KONG spoke highly of TCS’ efforts in promoting the trilateral cooperation under the leadership of Secretary-General YANG in the past two years and emphasized the significant role of trilateral cooperation as an engine of Asian economy in contributing to the development in the three countries as well as Northeast Asia. He mentioned that the People’s Republic of China attaches importance to trilateral cooperation and hoped that trilateral cooperation could provide a model for creating synergy to promote cooperation integrated-with the “Belt and Road” initiative. He expressed his expectation for TCS to play an active role in promoting an East Asian Community as well as facilitating exploration of cooperative projects. Assistant Foreign Minister KONG reassured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China will continue to support the TCS in every aspects and work closely with TCS to promote the trilateral cooperation.
