Others SG YANG Houlan Met SONG Kening, Director-General of Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, China

On December 27, 2015, TCS Secretary General YANG Houlan met with SONG Kening, Director-General of Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, China, and discussed Fujian’s economic cooperation as well as cultural and people exchanges with Japan and ROK.
During the meeting, SG YANG emphasized the significance of trilateral cooperation for Fujian’s socio-economic development and East Asian regional cooperation. Specifically, he suggested that Fujian should take advantages of the national projects focused on Fujian, namely “Fujian Pilot FTZ”, “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” and “Cultural Capital of East Asia,” so as to expand and deepen international cooperation with Japan and Korea as well as to promote socio-economic growth of Fujian.
DG SONG introduced the history of regional development and international exchanges in Fujian. He said that Fujian has maintained successful relationship with Japan and Korea, and hopes to strengthen ties with the two countries in order to deal with challenges in a changing global economic environment.
