TC Activities Deputy Secretary-General YAN Liang attended the 21st Yellow Sea Rim Economic and Technological Conference

On October 29 to November 1, 2023, Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) Deputy
Secretary-General YAN Liang attended and delivered congratulatory remarks at the 21st
Yellow Sea Rim Economic and Technological Conference hosted by the Ministry of
Commerce of the People's Republic of China, Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade and
Industry, and South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The 21st Yellow Sea Rim Economic and Technological Conference was held with the
theme “Maintain smooth industrial and supply chains and share the achievements of
cooperation and development in the Yellow Sea Rim region”. Around 300 people participated in this forum from various fields including government officials,
entrepreneurs, professors, and related organizations from China, Japan, and ROK.
During DSG Yanʼs remarks, he thanked the host for their warm reception and thoughtful
arrangements. DSG Yan pointed out that China, Japan, and Korea are the world's major
economies and an important engine of world economic development. Also, he
mentioned that economic and trade cooperation was an important driving force of
China-Japan-Korea cooperation and was a key element of the TCS's work. TCS has
actively implemented the consensus of the China-Japan-Korea Economic and Trade
Ministers' Meeting and coordinated the joint research on supply chain connectivity and
e-commerce among the three organizations.
During the reception, DSG YAN also had extensive exchanges with representatives of
CJK delegations such as the deputy mayor of Dalian city, representatives from China
Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Japan External Trade
Organization (JETRO) and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
Other than the forum, there was a field visit to Hengli Group on October 30, 2023.
Hengli Group is an international enterprise that focuses on oil refining, petrochemicals,
advanced polyester materials, and textiles. Next year, the Yellow Sea Rim Economic and
Technological Conference will be held in Oita, Japan, and the Japanese host has agreed
to invite TCS to attend the event.
