Others TCS Paid Courtesy Visits to its Counterparts in Japan

On March 14, 2018, the TCS delegation met with Mr. SAHARA Yasuyuki, Councilor of Health Minister’s Secretariat and discussed on tangible cooperation between the three countries and the TCS on health related areas. Secretary-General Mr. LEE Jong-heon underlined the importance of broad efforts to promote the quality of life through the cooperation between the three countries on communicable diseases and aging society. Mr. SAHARA recognized the substantial contributions have been made by the TCS as an intergovernmental organization and asked for close collaboration on the preparation of side event of the coming 11th Tripartite Health Ministers Meeting.
[Nikkei Shimbun]
The TCS paid a courtesy call to the Nikkei Shimbun and discussed on the facilitation of trilateral media cooperation and promotion of the TCS with Mr. TAKEOKA Rinji, Executive Board Member of the Nikkei Shimbun. SG LEE expressed sincere gratitude on the Nikkei Shimbun’s continuous efforts to promote cooperation between the three countries and contributions accumulated through the Northeast Asia Trilateral Forum (NATF). The two sides agreed to facilitate trilateral cooperation further through various opportunities including NATF and International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation (IFTC).
[Ministry of Finance]
The TCS visited Mr. SAKATA Wataru, Deputy Director-General of International Bureau to explore future cooperative projects with Ministry of Finance. TCS introduced its mandate and functions, and explained about some follow-up projects that are conducted in the economy and trade sector. The two sides agreed to continuously seek for agenda to deepen cooperation.
[Nuclear Regulation Authority]
The TCS delegation discussed its future possible project in trilateral nuclear safety field with Mr. SAKURADA Michihiro, Director-General for Technical Affairs of the Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA). As the public is paying close attention to nuclear safety issue, the three countries have actively been working hand in hand to improve people’s safety under the mechanism of the Top Regulator’s Meeting (TRM) on Nuclear Safety. The TCS shared an idea of raising public awareness of the three countries’ achievements which had made at the TRM mechanism. The two sides agreed to further consult this matter in the future.
[Japan Patent Office]
On March 15, 2018, The TCS delegation visited Mr. SHIMANO Kunihiko, Deputy Commissioner, to strengthen partnership with the Japan Patent Office. Mr. SHIMANO expressed gratitude for TCS’s continuous attendance to the IPR Heads meeting and requested for TCS’s support. TCS suggested that it stands ready to provide any support needed, and the two sides agreed to keep close collaborative relations.
