Others TCS Board Members Paid a Courtesy Visit to Korea Forestry Service 2017-11-21
On November 21, 2017, the TCS delegation headed by the Secretary General LEE Jong-heon paid a courtesy visit to H.E. KIM Jae-Hyun, Minister of the Korea Forestry Service (KFS), and exchanged views on trilateral forestry cooperation.

Expressing sincere appreciation of the visit by the TCS, Minister KIM Jae-Hyun emphasized the importance of trilateral cooperation in the area of forestry. He stated that compared to other areas of trilateral cooperation, the three countries can make more friendly approach in the field of forestry. Minister KIM also asked for TCS’ support to raise regional and international issues such as in the areas of desertification and air pollution.

Director General KIM Yong-kwan also underscored the increasing importance on timber building and forestry tourism, and asked for TCS’ support for a close cooperation among the three countries in these areas. 

In response, SG LEE Jong-heon assured his full support to accelerate the ongoing forestry cooperation as a common asset and vision of the three countries. Briefly describing the Forestry Lexicon project, he stated that TCS will be fully prepared to welcome any other potential projects from the Ministry.

*Forest Lexicon is a joint project initiated by the TCS in collaboration with the forestry agencies of the three countries to promote better understanding and communication between the three countries on forestry related terms.
