Others Deputy Secretary-General YAMAMOTO Yasushi delivered a lecture at the 7th Executive Committee of the Organization for the East Asia Economic Development (OEAED) 2017-11-02

On November 2, 2017, Deputy Secretary-General YAMAMOTO Yasushi delivered a lecture at the 7th Executive Committee of the Organization for the East Asia Economic Development (OEAED) in Incheon Songdo, the ROK. 

The OEAED is a cooperative platform among 11 municipal governments in the three countries. It was established in 2004, with an aim to promote the growth of Yellow Sea Rim economic circle by strengthening inter-city exchange and cooperation. 11 member cities are Incheon, Busan, Ulsan, Kitakyushu, Shimonoseki, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Dalian, Qingdao, Tianjin, and Yantai. 

About 50 participants from the municipal governments and local chambers of commerce attended the lecture. DSG YAMAMOTO introduced the trilateral consultative mechanism and the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), explained the importance of economic cooperation among the three countries, and presented multiple examples on current local governments’ cooperation. He also emphasized that the TCS plays a bridging role on the trilateral cooperation between three central governments and local governments of the three countries, and expressed TCS’s support for the local government cooperation.
