On June 15, TCS co-organized an open lecture with the Chinese Culture Center in Seoul, inviting Ms. QIN Bailan, a renowned Chinese female artist who was named in 2005 as one of China’s “Ten Major Art Masters”. Ms. QIN delivered the lecture on “Inheritance and Development of Traditional Chinese Painting Style”.
The lecture was started by SG YANG Houlan’s opening remark which recalled the significance of the long history of trilateral culture & art exchanges. The lecture by Ms. QIN traced the historical development of styles, tools, and techniques of the traditional Chinese painting. The lecture lasted for two hours with a painting demonstration by Ms. QIN and a lively Q & A with the audiences.
The lecture was held on the sideline of Ms. QIN’s art exhibition in the ROK from June 16 to 29 held at Chinese Culture Center in Seoul and Hannam University in Daejeon.
