Seminar & Forum TCS delegation attended ‘CAMPUS Asia International Symposium 2016’ held in Okayama University

On January 21, 2016, TCS delegation attended ‘CAMPUS Asia International Symposium 2016’ held in Okayama University which looked back on the achievements of the Okayama-Jilin-Sungkyunkwan University consortium under the theme of “the Five-Year Experience and a New Horizon for Cooperation”.
At the Symposium Dr. UMEZAWA Akima, Deputy Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) delivered congratulatory remarks, emphasizing the importance of the CAMPUS Asia Project echoed by the three leaders at the last 6th Trilateral Summit. He underscored the contribution of the Project to the creation of common Asian value and nurturing of core human resources for the facilitation of trilateral cooperation.
Following the remarks by the representatives of the three universities and honorary guests, faculties and students participating in the CAMPUS Asia Project delivered presentation on the achievements of the pilot program. The topic ranged from the progress of constructing a model of the East Asian style global liberal arts to students’ experience of various forms of exchange throughout the pilot program.
Before the Symposium, three university and TCS delegations had a meeting to discuss the future plan for the development of the CAMPUS Asia Project and the partnership among the three universities. Recognizing the importance of the CAMPUS Asia Project in enhancing trilateral educational cooperation, delegations of the three universities expressed firm determination to continue the Project by expanding the scope of exchange to different academic fields.
Since 2012, Okayama-Jilin-Sungkyunkwan University consortium have run a CAMPUS Asia pilot program called “Program for Core Human Resources Development: For the Achievement of common Good and the Re-evaluation of classical Culture in East Asia”, with the participation of 442 students.
